Fan In A Can Control Kits Models CK-20FV, CAC-24, and CAC-120
The CK-20FV Fan In A Can control kit is designed for use with the SWG Series Power Venter for controlling 30-millivolt controlled Natural or LP Gas appliances with a pressure tap port in the Gas Valve. This kit may also be used with the PVG series sidewall Power Venters, DI series Draft Inducers, and CAS-4 Combustion Air System. The included junction box is not required when using a PVG or CAS-4.
The CAC-24 kit is designed to control more than one appliance on a system using the Field Controls CAS-4 Combustion Air System with a chimney vented 24 VAC controlled combustion appliance. The Fan In A Can control kits in the CAS-4 will operate only one appliance, therefore a CAC-24 is required for each additional appliance to be added to the same CAS-4 unit. One CAS-4 unit can handle, at max, a total combined firing rate input of up to 450,000 BTU/HR.
The CAC-120 kit is designed to control more than one appliance on a system using the Field Controls CAS-3 Combustion Air System with a chimney vented oil fired system. The controls in the CAS-3 will operate only one appliance, therefore a CAC-120 is required for each additional appliance to be added to the same CAS-3 unit. One CAS-3 unit can handle at max, a total combined firing rate input of up to 500,000 BTU/Hr.
Spillage Switches Check-Out Procedure:
- Allow the water heater to heat up to operating temperature, then disconnect the power to the gas pressure switch.
- Adjust the thermostat to call for heat with the venter inoperative. Allow approximately 2 minutes of flue gas spillage for the spillage switches to sense the spillage and disrupt the thermocouple circuit, halting the gas flow to the pilot and burner.
- Wait 2 to 3 minutes. Reset the spillage switches and light the pilot, then perform a second safety spillage test. (Steps 1 and 2)
