Highlights of the CAS-6 and CAS-7 Combustion Air Systems

  • SAVES TIME: Designed for use in a confined space
  • EFFICIENT: Delivers combustion air for mechanical rooms, boiler rooms, or furnaces
  • OPERATION: For use with oil or gas applications

Features of the CAS-6 and CAS-7 Combustion Air Systems

The Fan-in-a-Drum combustion air system is a commercial product designed to deliver combustion air into the mechanical room, boiler room or furnace location to overcome a confined space or inadequate air supply. The Combustion air systems CAS 6 and CAS 7 are dual volt units for oil or gas applications.

What Is a Fan In A Drum?

The Fan-in-a-Drum CAS-6 and CAS-7 models are designed for use with any oil or gas fired furnace, water heater, or boiler with 24 VAC or 120 VAC control systems. It may also be used with millivolt water heaters and more than one appliance. The CAS-6 and CAS-7 units mechanically draw air into a structure and disperses it near the combustion air intake of an appliance.

When Do You Use a Vent Cap?

The Fan-in-a-Drum CAS-6SK and CAS-7SK combustion air systems models come with a Star-Kap vent cap. The Star-Kap is the only vent cap that is not required to be two feet higher than any structure within ten feet when used on detached or lean-to buildings that house heating equipment outside of the living space.

This product is designed for use with any oil or gas fired furnace, water heater, or boiler with 24 VAC or 120 VAC control systems. It may also be used with millivolt water heaters and more than one appliance. The CAS unit mechanically draws air into a structure and disperses it near the combustion air intake of an appliance. Refer to the CAS-6 and CAS-7 installation manual for guidance in setting up the CAS system based on the size and length of the connecting duct work and the input rating of the appliance.

What is combustion air?

Combustion air is literally just the air needed to provide a continuous supply of air for proper combustion or burning.

Combustion air systems should be installed by a licensed contractor. Find a contractor in your area.
