THE ADSORPTION POWER OF ACTIVATED CARBON

EFFECTIVE VOC REDUCTION
Filters are highly effective at capturing particles like pet hair, dust, and pollen. However, gaseous pollutants and odors pass right through them. That’s where activated carbon comes in.
Field Controls uses activated carbon technology to physically capture and hold airborne gases, fumes, and odors that traditional filters miss. By incorporating highly porous carbon media into our systems, we provide a critical layer of protection that enhances air freshness and supports healthier indoor environments.
HOW CARBON TECHNOLOGY WORKS
Activated carbon is a form of carbon that has been treated to develop millions of microscopic pores, giving it an enormous surface area. As air passes through the carbon media:
VOCs (Volatile organic compounds) Such as formaldehyde or benzene are adsorbed (not absorbed) onto the surface.
Odor-causing molecules from smoke, cooking, pets, and chemicals are trapped in the pores.
Fumes and gases that would otherwise linger in the air are safely reduced or removed.
Unlike air fresheners or masking sprays, carbon doesn’t cover odors — it eliminates them at the source.

RESIDENTIAL APPLICATIONS
- New homes which trap VOCs from construction materials
- Homes with smokers, or frequent cooking.
- Homes using cleaning chemicals, air fresheners, or scented products
- Living spaces near traffic, industrial zones, or wildfire-prone areas

COMMERCIAL APPLICATIONS
- Offices and conference spaces where people gather
- Medical facilities and clinics using sterilization chemicals
- Casinos, gyms, salons, and other spaces with strong odor-generating activities
- Hotels and multi-unit buildings that need universal odor control
