Flue Sentinel Dampers Approved as Alternative for Glass Doors

  • Blog

(Kinston, NC) – Field Controls has recently received ICC approval for the Flue Sentinel® FSM and FSE dampers as alternatives for glass doors on fireplaces. With the Flue Sentinel, the beauty and enjoyment of an open hearth is an option that meets extensive building code and safety requirements while saving energy.

“The ICC Evaluation Service has confirmed that Field Controls’ Flue Sentinel complies with the provisions of the International Fuel Gas Code, International Mechanical Code, International Residential Code, and International Energy Conservation Code,” said ICC President Shahin Moinian. “This confirmation, as evidenced in ICC-ES listing ESR-3661-PMG, provides guidance to code officials faced with approving the use of the Flue Sentinel under these codes.”
